Patient Management

Treatment Pathway

De novo heart failure, despite higher mortality, offers potential myocardial recovery. Identifying and addressing underlying causes is key—interventions for conditions like dilated cardiomyopathy, viral myocarditis and toxin-induced cardiomyopathy can lead to improvement. For cardiac surgeries, explore options; if issues persist, consider replacement therapy or palliative care.

In Acute on Chronic heart failure, complete recovery isn't guaranteed, but the focus is on improving function. Impella® is vital, allowing the heart to rest, addressing issues, minimizing medications, optimizing nutrition and enhancing mobility—promising steps for heart improvement.
